Back link means that you have to put your text ad in as many good quality websites as you can.

the good quality websites are the websites with high page rank.

so in order to get a good page rank you have to submit your site to directories.

and buy text ads in other related websites.

Focus on getting some link exchanges from similar topic sites and submit to various free directories. If you got some cash, then buy links from high PR sites or from paid directories.

One way links are the best obviously and also age of domain plays a small part too.

Like forums. You can put your link in signature to be attached with evry post you make. SE's read forum signatures and this is the fastest way to increase backlinks as much as you wish.
