In the next 10 years, how do you think the internet will change? What kind of earning opportunities will emerge, and which will be diminished? Will Ebooks be as popular, or do you think free information and membership sites will take over?
Think about everything that has happened in the last 10 years, since 1998. Will there be more change in the next 10 years or less?
All opinions welcomed!
Brian

i remember, FFA pages
(free for all link pages)
all you had to do was submit links to these FFA pages, and
traffic came rushing in
which then gave way to massive FFA submission websites,
and evetually lead to demise of FFA phenomenon
moving forward i remember, the only way of
making a decent revenue....... affiliate marketing
you had to select the most "relevant" affiliate program
and then start promoting your website
most of these affiliate programs were geared at USA audience
so international webmasters had very few options
and ofcourse the era of
"get paid to read emails" and follow through with "get paid to click"
the concept was fantastic for a n00b, sit on your pc all day
read emails, click links
get paid........
and then eventually advertisers realised they were targetting
the wrong "demographic", of low income group
that was willing to work for less than a dollar an hour
....... ofcourse some of these still exist
but the market is not as big as it was
back then
and then came the mother of it all.....
google adsense.....
i remember very well, the time when
google adsense open its doors to
small webmasters, i was just a small time advertiser
in adwords, and once adsense for webmasters went live,
everything just exploded....... including my profits
webmasters started popping everything
blog explosion happened
and.... i reckon in some way it made way for web 2.0
............................................
user contribution poured in
web was never going to be the same again
............................................
looking forward for next 10 years......
over-info
too much content will be the problem waiting to be solved...
so gear yourself up, cos that will be the time
when you can present yourself as a person
who makes sense of it all....... someone like an editor
as far as marketing goes....
tradition "ppc" "cpm" "ppa"
will still exist, but viral marketing
will gain more traction.....
right now, the tradition advertising agencies,
havent figured this one out
but they eventually will
and
i for one,
expect to see great things comming out of it......
I think that we will have rich interfase browsers, or maybe native win2018 apps running throgh the hyperhigh speed internet
At this time most popular is social network so i can decide that free sites will be more popular or part-free. ) And as for me earn opportunities will only growth.
There should be more change from now till 2018 than from 1998 till now. If technology progresses exponentionally, so should the internet.
I think the buzz word in 10 years from now might be "3D"; today we're witnessing the early stage of that long overdue technology.
Not everything will be great. Freedom of speech will be non-existing, I'm afraid. New laws are already in the pipeline, waiting to get approved by control-freaks from a government I despise.
